Elastic tape for skin suture

3M Steri-Strip Elastic is a tape for the suturing of skin wounds made on an elastic support in non-woven, porous fabric with hypoallergenic pressure sensitive adhesive. Features: Support made of non-woven fibers intertwined with each other. Their disordered arrangement results in a mycoporous structure permeable to water vapor which allows the wound to aerate, thus avoiding skin maceration. In this way bacterial proliferation is not favored. Adhesive consisting of an inert and hypoallergenic acrylic copolymer, capable of opposing a great horizontal tensile strength for excellent initial and prolonged sealing, in order to ensure the maintenance of the correct approximation of the surgical wound margins over time. The maximum adhesive power of 3M Steri-Strip Elastic manifests itself 24 hours after application and then remains unchanged for several days. The removal of the tape is atraumatic because the adhesive power easily yields to vertical traction.
